Chicken sales is back in March.  Market prices are inching up still for Breast Meats.  We are able to hold the same prices as last month with our vendors' help.  Dark meat prices jumped quite a bit.  Thighs are tight and prices are going up.  Again, we see some good value in drumsticks.  This perfect grill item may be a substitute for your dark meat demand.

We also added split breast, chicken livers and gizzards as some of you demanded this item.  Let us know in the comment area what you would like to see in the bulk sales area.  We will try to source them for you.

Company News:

  1. Yes!  Val got promoted!!  Please join us to congratulate Valerie on her recent promotion to Sales Manager at North GA Meat Co. Her dedication and hard work have paid off, and she is truly deserving of this new position.
As someone who has been with the company for a long time, and especially after we took over the operation, she has shown her commitment to our values and mission. Her experience and knowledge have been invaluable to the team, and we are thrilled to see her taking on this new challenge.

Industry News

A few comments on the overall protein markets:

  1. Chicken supply is projected to grow a small percentage this year, however, the Avian Influenza is still a huge threat.  As wild birds are migrating back to North, we may see another surge of infected cases.  for those of you are interested, here is the USDA website that tracks the HPAI: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/animalhealth/animal-disease-information/avian/avian-influenza/hpai-2022/2022-hpai-commercial-backyard-flocks.
  2. Hog production will bounce back after 3 years of sliding.  Prices will see a slight drop, and consumptions are estimated to be stable this year.
  3. Beef production continues to see some struggles, and estimated to be short this year.  As a result, we will see increasing prices and lower demand.
