North Georgia Meat Company, established in December 2022, is dedicated to delivering USDA inspected top-quality beef to the Northeast Georgia mountains. The company’s journey began with the acquisition of several F1 American Wagyu calves—a first-generation crossbreed between full-blood Wagyu and another breed, often Angus. This strategic choice allows North Georgia Meat to offer beef that combines the rich marbling and tenderness of Wagyu with the robust flavor of Angus.
To ensure the best possible feeding and humane handling of their cattle, North Georgia Meat meticulously selected feeders from across the country. Among these were Cameron Greg, owner of Dry Creek Farms in Hawarden, Iowa, who scored exceptionally well in humane handling performance reviews and in achieving outstanding marbling results in the beef.
In addition to its Wagyu program, North Georgia Meat took proactive steps to source the finest grass-fed cattle, free from antibiotics and hormones, within the state of Georgia. Collaborating with SE Cattle Consulting, they connected with Evans Hooks Cattle Co out of Swainsboro, Georgia. This partnership has yielded remarkable results, with cattle displaying excellent marbling and overall quality.
